We would love to welcome you to our Church of St Peter ad Vincula.
Perfectly set in the heart of the stunning Cranborne Chase, and close to a variety of excellent venues for your reception, Tollard Royal makes a perfect setting for your marriage service. Our 13th century church can accommodate up to a maximum of 180 guests, and flowers and bell ringing can be arranged, with a range of costs to suit all budgets.
We are keen to help and have a relaxed informal approach; we can balance the traditional with a personal touch, and make your day all that you dream.
Number of Wedding Guests
The Church will comfortably hold approximately 80-90 guests in the main aisle with four people to a pew, and there is room for another 40-50 in the side aisle.
If you are happy to squash them in then 180 is possible, but hats can be a problem!
There is a church car park, and further car parking is available.
Organist and Bells
There is a traditional organ that is in regular use, and we can provide an organist if needed.
There are six bells which can be rung for your wedding if you wish. This is usually for 20 minutes before and 15 minutes after the ceremony.
The right choice of flowers is crucial, both on the day and for the photos of such an important occasion.
We would love to take care of all your church flowers for you! Our church flower-arrangers may not be professional florists but they are all enthusiastic volunteers who love to do flowers and have lots of experience, since we have flowers in the Church all year round (apart from Lent) and fully decorate it for special events.
If you use our flower-arrangers to decorate the Church for you then every wedding is individual. We would be delighted to discuss what you want and what it will cost, or we have a list of arrangements and prices to give you an idea. This can range from the simplest of displays to a magnificent array. We can also work along side your florist.
If you prefer to use an independent florist, family or friends then we are happy to go over their plans and make sure the church is ready for them.
Please contact our Flower Coordinator, Bonny Shirley, to discuss your plans and any prices; she is always delighted to help.
The First Step
You should first contact the Priest in Charge, Revd Dr David Miell, to ensure that it is possible to get married in the Church, and to discuss your plans, the fees and any legal requirements.
We can help you plan your special day and give you all the information you need to hold your wedding in the Church and to make it amazing. Please contact our Churchwarden, Jackie Carlyle-Clarke for your planning needs, or any questions.
